Build yours, tin by tin
Pick a size and fill it your way: double sardines, spicy next to tuna steak, all mixed up. The box is yours — we just close the ribbon.
Every tin tells
Pick a tin and read its life: the boat, the fishing art, the auction, the day. If the story does not add up, we refund you — it has not happened yet.
Tin dossier
SEALED ON THE DAY OF THE CATCH
Fat July sardine from the morning seine. In the tin seven hours after leaving the water.
The sea’s calendar
Out of season, we do not can — you buy what the sea gives, when it gives it. That is why a tin sometimes sells out: it happened to the octopus, back in October.
Sardine Jun – Oct
Mackerel Feb – May
Tuna May – Sep
Octopus Oct – Decsold out · back in October
Cod cured — year round
catch season off season cured — year round ▍now — August
The marked column is the month you are reading this in. Each tin’s stock is whatever the last season gave — when it runs out, it is out.
The factory
Zé picks the fish at the Matosinhos auction before seven. What is not good enough stays there — and that is most of it.
Fourteen people, sharp knives, zero hurry. A torn fillet never enters a tin — it becomes lunch.
The tin is sealed the same day and the fish cooks inside it: 118 °C, 55 minutes. That is what makes a conserva last for years.
Every label is folded and glued by hand by Dona Alice. If one is crooked, it was not her — she does not miss.
For companies
From 20 boxes up: your logo on the postcard, your message, a proper VAT invoice and delivery on the date you pick. Christmas has been ours since 2022 — December orders close on 14 November.
Opened and approved
«I sent a box to my brother in Zurich. He opened the sardines on a Sunday and said it cured a homesickness he did not know he had.»
«The box of 12 vanished at a dinner for six. My fault, I admit — I started it.»
«We gave them to clients at Christmas. By September they were already asking if we would repeat it.»
