Ceremony on the pier
Wicker chairs over the water, the flower arch at the end of the pier. Twenty minutes, two yeses, zero hurry.
Walled estate · Évora, Alentejo
Century-old olive trees inside walls from 1874, a lake with a wooden pier and a stone threshing floor laid for dinner. At Véu the weekend is yours alone — we never book two weddings back to back.
2026–2027 season · couples book 12 to 18 months ahead
The estate
The ceremony on the pier, dinner on the threshing floor, the party in the winery. All within two hundred steps, all inside the same walls.
A wooden pier over still water. The ceremony happens here, late in the afternoon, as the sun drops behind the olive trees.
The old eira, bare stone underfoot, now one long table for a hundred and eighty guests under festoons of light.
Brick vaults, barrels from the wheat-farming days and a dance floor. This is where the night stops keeping time.
A day at Véu
A wedding at Véu keeps its own rhythm. This was last September’s — every couple finds theirs.
4 pm
Wicker chairs over the water, the flower arch at the end of the pier. Twenty minutes, two yeses, zero hurry.
5.30 pm
Alentejo sparkling wine, Sado oysters and a sunset doing all the decorating for free.
8 pm
One single table across the threshing floor. The menu comes from the estate kitchen, the wine from the vineyards next door.
Midnight
Cake cut, ties in pockets, the mirror ball lit under the brick vaults.
4 am
Caldo verde soup in the courtyard, the sky paling over the olive trees. Whoever stays, stays — the house sleeps twelve.
Dates
We book one wedding per weekend — when a Saturday vanishes from this page, it is truly gone. Pick a free date and carry it into the visit request.
Your number
The question everyone asks by email, answered here in thirty seconds. Move the values — the total keeps up.
The season
High season runs May to October.
Words
“It was raining at four. By five we were getting married inside the winery — and today we wouldn’t trade those photographs for any others.”
“From the first phone call to the last glass, we never shared the estate with anyone. Not even at the rehearsal.”
“The number this website gave us at midnight was, almost to the euro, the final invoice. That tells you everything about this house.”
Questions
Plan B is the winery: 320 m² of brick vaults, heated, seating the same 180 guests. The call is made with you by 10 am on the day itself, and the team turns everything around in ninety minutes. Half the couples who ended up marrying in there say they preferred it.
The next step
A visit takes an hour and commits you to nothing. On Saturday mornings we show the estate fully set for the next day’s wedding, lights on.
